Veridian Sight – VOL. 4: Beyond Human Design
Chapter 11: The Alignment Beckons, Seeds of Remembrance, Tracing the Watchers
In the abandoned facility’s makeshift lab, Sarah and Aris pored over the Kryll probe data and the Project Chimera files. The recurring symbol associated with “Harmonic Convergence,” the intersecting waveforms, finally clicked for Aris.
“It’s a resonance cascade,” he exclaimed, his voice filled with dawning horror. “A way to amplify and synchronize specific energy frequencies. If the Kryll can trigger a ‘Harmonic Convergence’ involving multiple ‘Designated Echoes’… the combined energy output could be catastrophic. Or… controllable.” The implications were terrifying: the Kryll might be planning to weaponize individuals like Elias and Evelyn on a massive scale.
Sarah cross-referenced this with Evelyn’s fragmented recollections. Evelyn remembered the scientists being particularly interested in periods of unusual solar activity and specific astrological alignments. “They used to monitor the solar flares,” she recalled, her voice still weak. “They said… the ‘energies had to be right’ for certain… procedures.” This chillingly aligned with Aris’s theory of a synchronized energy amplification.
Meanwhile, Evelyn’s memories continued to surface in fragmented bursts. She remembered codenames: “Project Nightingale,” a facility in the Appalachian Mountains; “Site Icarus,” somewhere in the Nevada desert; and a chilling designation, “The Cradle,” its location unknown but associated with early-stage experiments and other newborns like her and Elias. These codenames offered potential leads, and breadcrumbs in the vast and shadowy landscape of Project Chimera’s operations.
At the old installation, Brody worked carefully with a device Aris had modified – a crude but potentially effective signal reverser. The air in the sub-level hummed with the energy of the alien technology. It took time, and several near-failures that sent sparks flying, but finally, Brody managed to lock onto the originating signal of the more powerful tracking unit. The device displayed a series of rapidly changing coordinates, indicating a mobile source.
“It’s not a fixed location,” Brody muttered, his eyes narrowed in concentration. “They’re on the move.” The signal was strong, suggesting the source was relatively close. He fed the data into a portable mapping program Aris had installed. The initial trajectory pointed east, away from Clover Creek, but then it began to arc south, towards… the general vicinity of their abandoned Chimera facility.
The pieces were falling into place, painting a grim picture. The Kryll were tracking “Designated Echoes,” potentially planning a “Harmonic Convergence” for unknown but likely sinister purposes. Other enhanced individuals were out there, trapped in secret facilities. And someone, using advanced alien technology, was actively monitoring the location where one of these individuals had been found, and they might be heading their way.
